That's all I need to hear. Buy the biggest, fastest, meanest bike you can afford. It'll either make you a rider or it'll make you one of those people who used to ride, but found another hobby.

I'm mostly serious. The rider safety course won't teach you much, but it's great for insurance purposes. Experience... that's a hell of a teacher. Your budget, unless you're really lucky, will probably land you on something that will teach you how to ride AND work on bikes too.
