The WFTW 2012 Rubicon Super Event will be held on Sept 7th, 8th & 9th.

We are pleased to again have this great event that Honors our Countries Veterans held at the CBMR (Crystal Basin Mountain Resort) www.crystalbasinmountainresort.com . We cannot thank Craig and his staff enough for the use of the property and over the top hospitality!

Please plan on arriving Friday and if you’re up for it we will be doing a Night Run to the Granite Bowl and then back to Camp. Saturday will be the main event run with the trip going to Spider Lake for an awesome lunch and then back down for the Big Party at CBMR.

We will have some special surprises again this year thanks to our loyal friends at WWW.AXIALRACING.COM We will be having a mild RC Crawling Contest Friday & Sat. with the awesome RC Crawlers made by Axial! Once Sunday rolls around we'll be giving these away to a few lucky vets Courtesy of AXIAL.

Our good friends The Rubicon Rockheads will again be providing some awesome grub and trail lunches for our event. We cannot thank them enough for their personal time and dedication to this event.

More information is availible in another thread I just posted. We are full this year for the event but encourage you to contact us if you are interested for next year. This is a one for one driver selection process and an invite only trip. If you have interest in becoming a driver or know of a Veteran in need please contact us.

We kindly ask that if you encounter our group please pull over and let them pass as we are on a schedule for the weekend and we want this trip for the VETS to be enjoyable and fun! We will have multiple trips for the weekend going to Loon through the Granite Bowl and trips to Spider Lake. Our Trip Vehicles can be identified with everyone having small America Flags attached to them.

If you see us along the trail please say Hi and thank our Hero’s as we give them a weekend they will not soon forget!

There are Selected 4x4 Clubs participating and we would like to Thank them for the tireless efforts they show to our honored Veterans. Rubicon Rockheads, Pirates of the Rubicon, Norcal Crawlers and other Dedicated Individuals.

More information will be announced shortly please stay tuned to www.WheelersForTheWounded.com or this very thread right here on Pirate4x4.com & www.jkowners.com

I would like to be there again and I hope to have my Army buddy coming out from South Carolina to attend. If he can't make it I would still like to come and support the event in any way.

While we appreciate everyone's interest, we are indeed set for 2012. There will always be opportunities to participate in future events. If you have not been contacted directly by Kevin or myself this year, then please wait until future events to be involved.

Every year we seem to get an amazing veteran who has a great story to tell, from Scott M. F. Jackson to Fred Meyling, we have been blessed to include some great American Heroes. This year will be no different. We will have as one of our honored guests a man named Francis R., who was a mortar man in WWII. That's right, 87 year old Francis, who received the Purple Heart while fighting in Europe for our freedom. Francis told me that he started walking across the European theater and hasn't stopped since. He is a very active 87year old American hero and Kevin and I could not be more happy to have him join our event this year. God Bless America!

Just a little Veteran update:

I was talking to my Vet last night and he's getting geared up for the trip! I told him about Francis and he's looking forward to meeting him and sharing experiences. He's doing really well with new living arrangements. He's back in school and super excited to get back up in the mountains with WFTW. It made my day to hear from him! I'm very proud of him and honored to be his escort for the weekend :D

Kevin and I wish to thank the El Dorado Hills Rotary for their continued support of the WFTW in 2012. They are true patriots for helping us do what we do.
