Nolen it is Matt, With your Alcan lift are you burning up pinion gears? If so, why? Also if I get your Alcans, could I take out the bottom spring on the pack to correct this problem and lower the lift? I do not think that I want to run 7", mayby around 6" or less of lift. <IMG SRC="smilies/confused.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/jeep1.gif" border="0">
The reason I burned my pinnion bearing is a combination of a few factors:
1) My rear driveline is 8 inches shorter than it was before I installed the Atlas making the angle terrible from the transfer case to the pinion.
2) I have the rear pinion indexed up AND I have 4 degree shims in it. You will not need to index yours with the Lift these springs provide and your current axle location.
3) I had all these problems and I still drove it on the street to the trail. I knew I was in the danger zone, but I did not have a way to get it to the trail that day and I HAD to wheel <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> A $300 mistake!
As for taking the bottom leafs out. That is your decision. After I took them out, the ride/Flex got MUCH better, especially in the rear. As for lift, it only lowered the Cruiser about 1 inch.
I took off my breather nut and filled it until it was full. THere is no way to relocate the fill plug and fix the mess I am in on my rear axle pinion angle except to put in a RC D60! <IMG SRC="smilies/smokin.gif" border="0">
