Saw the Ultimate a rug Truck runs the same setup too. Been searching vids and reviews on the build.

Got some work done today. Fabbed up another shifter through the stock t case boot for the twin stick. Also mounted ORD ' S mechanical shifter for the Magnum.

Filled the 205 to the tip bolt of the idler shaft cover. Did I over fill it? It's clocked so idk. Stephen said he put about 800 ml of gear oil in his Magnum. I did the same and it looks about half of the case of the sight tube.

Still need breather tube and linkages for the 205 which I'll fab tomorrow. And two more shift knobs. I'll rip the factory one off. The setup is left stick =front axle, middle stick= rear axle and right stick reduction box.

Got the driveshafts in. Had to bevel the front output yoke to get max articulation without it bottoming out. Pretty much went right in with that exception. First day driving around. 5.33:1 is crazy low! Can't wait to get it on the rocks. With an auto, shifting on either t case the trans must be in nuetral. No fly shifting. Didn't go too far today maybe 10 miles, included some freeway but both boxes were Luke warm to the touch. Even being next to the cat. Trans got up to 120. Will continue updating as time goes.

Ordered some twin stick knobs from jd fab. Also cut 1.25" off my old driveshaft and welded it back together as a spare. Not much else today.

I have a question about final crawl ratio with an auto.

with a 2.45 trans 1st gear, 2.72 crawl box, 1.98 t case and 4.56 axle gears I come out to 60.1:1 crawl ratio. But the converter multiplies the torque before locking up so is my final ratio 120:1 with converter factored in? Obviously the converter is not ALWAYS multiplying the torque at (roughly) 2 x's. Was just trying to research and found a lot of threads with opinions. Just seeing if this sounded correct.

Oh and correct me if I'm wrong but ORD lists the ratio of the dbler at 5.33. However, 1.98 x 2.72 equals 5.39 respectively. Thought that was odd.

Just got back yesterday from running a trail called the Dusy Ershim. It's 33 miles of crawling and 300 miles away from me to begin with. It was hot a shit passing near LA. No problems at all with the setup. Temps at 282 miles of non-stop freeway loaded with camping gear (including 10 gallons of fuel and 5 of water plus an arb fridge, repair box, welder, etc): trans @ 158°, Magnum Box at 187° and np205 at 210°.

What catch can/breather did you go with?
I went with the Up-around-and down method.......

Sweet. Thank you. Any added advice as far as lubrication or anything we may need to know?
Stephen told me to run AMSoil 140w gear oil, because according to him "I'm a special kind of hard on parts" lol. Only think I can say is enjoy. we have not had any failures at all.

And that reinforced clear tube is the same one I would run.

Looken good bud.

Thanks for posting the temps. It's good to see that the Magnum is running cool. I probably should upgrade to the 75W-140 since I like to run fast out on the interstate. Damn, that Amsoil Syn is pricey though.

I think that's what I run not 140 but the AMSoil 75-140. Its expensive but it doesn't take much.

So while I was making a catch can, I drained the oil out of the Magnum since it looked a little dirty. I drained out about 450ml. Which means I spread about 200 plus all over under my truck and all over everyone else who has followed me. I was first using 7 ft of hose to a dbl ended barb with a breather. I run that in between the inner and outer bed skins so it sat on top if the wheel well all nice and hidden.

Oh and I read on this month's Petersens 4 wheel that Stephen was leaking something on the freeway, his truck was smoking and caught fire. He failed to mention that when I was talking to him or maybe they wrote what happened incorrectly. Stephen did mention that he temporarily taped a plastic bottle as a catch can to the end mid UA trip.

Anyways, here's some pics. Metal in the oil and all. Hopefully just break in material.

So since I needed a catch can I came up with this. I read an article on here about using an aluminum water bottle but I couldn't find one near me and was wasting gas driving around looking for one.

I ended up using a 250ml (small coke lol) aluminum coke bottle. Drilled the bottom for a 3/8npt barbed fitting and the mouth allowed me to screw in a 1/2-3/8npt. Total cost was 10 bucks. I drilled the plastic gas fill neck hole so I could zip tie it. It's all hidden and looks good.

I'll post mileage so far on the Magnum tomorrow.

My brother blew the factory t-case in his truck and went through the same thought process you are.... He couldn't see spending almost the same amount of ca$h for a new or rebuilt version, so he went with the new ORD Magnum/205 with the triple-stick direct linkage for the last 8 months or so in his '05 Ram 2500 5.9L VERY HEALTHY Cummins, 5-speed manual transmission, single cab, long bed (actually it's an 8' work box bed)..... He's running the Carli 3" system and 35" Interco M16s. He had a PITA kind of time getting everything installed and new cross members built while laying under the truck..... But now that he has it all set up, he has been running it for the last 10 months & he is absolutely loving it! The truck is his daily driver.... He uses it to tow his Sand Rail, or built CJ5, or built CJ3B Willys. No issues with it whatsoever!! He's gone through a heavy winter with it, and a hot summer..... Still loving it & highly recommends it to anyone!!!

ORD makes everything that leaves their doors, top notch.... And if it isn't, they will make it right!!! Awesome company, awesome owners, and seriously awesome parts!!!

Update. No issues at all. Drained the 205 and refill since the fluid looked a bit dirty to me, probably front the rebuild and new shaft. No issues though. Just put 2000 miles on it for a New Years trip to AZ. Gand Canyon , hidden point offroad, back to the Hualapai mtns for some crawling via the rte66. No issues at all. Shifts everytime. While it's running I have had some issues like the shift lever is stuck for the 205 but it's probably because of the straight cut gears and auto trans. Auto output still turns in nuetral so sometimes I have to shut the truck off to get it to switch from hi to low or vice versa. Magnum fluid looks a little dirty but it's probably me being picky.

I really should start a build thread. I've also put Iron Ram heads on, headers, Comp's adjustable roller rocket kit, built an anti-wrap bar, 21 lbs accel injectors plus some other crap.
