Pressing carrier bearings off with a socket, bearing puller, hi-lift and two c-clamps isn't that great, but it works.
He does, but apparently forgot about me!SSGTWC said:damn dude!?!?!?!
do you not know anyone with a shop press? :flipoff2:
Well if you remove the bearing puller and socket, then put the hilift on the bearing, that would work if you want to remove the ring gear, or two hilifs and two really big clamps. If it wasn't for the crosspin you could make something to go through the center of the diff to prees it on.desertsport said:I like it now show me how to turn it into a press. seriously
I have two axles to do now, and one next spring sometime. If you want to press bearings off and on for me I'd welcome it.PTSchram said:He does, but apparently forgot about me!
Why bother, their 12 Ton press costs $89 and works fine for carrier bearingsMT4Runner said:You can make one of the "crappy" HF pipe benders work as a press with a few simple mods...
(George Clinton voice on) It would be ludicrous to think that this is new to us, we do this, this is what we do! (George Clinton voice off)Urban Wheeler said:I have two axles to do now, and one next spring sometime. If you want to press bearings off and on for me I'd welcome it.
