I plan on putting a 242amg behind my 5.3 4l60e combo in my Jeep and I am shopping around for one. I have noticed through research that the output speed sensor is different (gear driven on the military and electric on the civillian) and also the shift range sensor appears different. Those two items dont really bother me and I can find an easy way around them. What I want to know is what other differences are there, if any, that Im not seeing and are there any reasons to pick one over the other. Thanks

...better late than never I suppose...

I read someplace that the military TC is designed for more abuse, but also lower highway speeds compared to the civilian TC

In a Jeep I wouldn't worry about strength issues, they are good units...
