Is anyone running one? Anyone know if they are worth the incredibly low price? At $350 its the only winch i can afford, but if its a POS i'll just keep saving.

My money is on rebadged chinese shit.

Buy one from Harbor Freight (279 I think) and then save up for a better one. Be sure to give us all a write up on the Harbor Freight one in the mean time.:D

line speed is 14 FPM compared to an M8000 which is 42 FPM. Hope when you get stuck you got plenty of time ;)

Looks like a total piece of sh!t to me. I would keep savin your pennies...

Hell, for an extra hundred, you can buy a Ramsey REP8000. Yeah, it aint gonna br much faster, but at least its a name brand, made in the usa, and the company has been arouns a while. Who knows when the chinese supplier will dry up?

Hopefully they'll stop importing their chincy shit into our country soon.

Interestingly enough though....I read on this very board that the HArbor Freight/Chicago Electric winch is a Ramsey REP with bushings in place of bearings. Weird huh?

I bought that one, it caught on fire after three uses. Then I had it rewound, then it caught on fire on the first pull.

That winch is the worst product ever made by man, I want to throw it through the window of harbor freight.

Funny how my buddy's M8000 hasn't had ANY problems. Spend your money on QUALITY.

I fawking miss not having a winch even though mine only worked about 10 times.

Sure you can: Type in your city and state here (http://www.shiner.com/distr.html)

Ah yes, I am glad my ranch is 40 miles from Shiner, Tx :D.

How is your harbor freight winch doing? I had just put stainless cable from the department of Navy (for "free") before it :nuke: the second time too.

I somehow seriously doubt this.

The only thing needed to know about it is it's a piece of shit. Period.

so does anyone have any actual experience with the MM winch? Anyone know for sure who makes it. I know the FPM #s dont look that great, and the price is too low, but so far i haven't seen anything remotely resembling real experience or actual facts

Dallas, you should have been out in Moab with us in October... we met up with a guy in an orange toy in Upper who had one of those cheepo winches. slow. real real real slow.

It worked tho.

I dunno, I guess I agree with the rest of the guys here, save your pennies.
