What vehicles are good as donors and why? Factory suspension doesn't matter because its going to be 1/4 elliptical anyway. elusiv 09-26-2001, 09:08 AM a great donor vehicle is the military 1 ton chevy's (cut-v's) they come with 4.56 gears, locking hubs, beefy disk brakes, and are passenger sid3e drop. the rear axles to these beasts have 4.56's and a detroit locker. any chevy or dodge 1 ton front axle will do though...
