They'll work..... In fact I'm getting ready to put my 8 lug stuff on very soon. Just got to finish grinding so I can clear 15" wheels

Does this mean you are finally doing a 44 swap?

Im working on it. I bent my 35 into a nice U shape and the radius arm brackets are bent as well. what better time to upgrade then when you need to fix junk anyway.

How much grinding you need to fit 15" rims and what backspacing you using? Also will 15" rims fit over a 14 bolt rear?

If I remember right you can run 2.5" B/S 15" rims with a min. of grinding but you will have the drums uncovered for rocks to hit but then they can take some hits with no probs.

I just bought some 15x8's with 4" back spacing. Most of the grinding is for that last 1/4". 3.75" would be a piece of cake.

The way my wheels are built, just after the inner saftey bead, the diameter of the wheel drops ever so slightly, which is what is requiring most of the grinding. Mostly to the caliper bracket.

As far as the grinding goes, it's really not much at all, and I can't see how it would weaken anything at all. Nothing to worry about. I'll try and take pictures when I do the second one.

I'd think that 15's should clear the 14 bolt drums, but I really don't know.

Yeah I need to make sure i keep the rims as narrow as possible full width axles on a ranger is already going to cause enough width issues with the cops let alon trying to run way off set rims.

Dunno if this guy's on the board - but he's managed to keep his track-width in check:
