Folks,
Here is the correction notice that I promised would be forthcoming from our newly hired consultants. I'd like to see us give them our support and best effort at making this Master Plan work. We need it for the future of our trail. With all the environmental work done (that these folks will do for us under the guidance of the ROC), we will be better able to keep our trail alive and well. Please share this message with your partners and friends. Thanks, Del

Del:
Thanks for your comments and corrections at today's ROC meeting. We appreciate your help and guidance in kicking off the Rubicon Trail planning process.
I would like clarify a statement in an e-mail from one of ESP's team members. That e-mail used the word "Wilderness" incorrectly and out of context. As discussed this morning, we are committed to working with you, other members of the ROC, and the public at large to develop a plan that supports the OHV use of the Rubicon Trail. This planning process is not intended address land use policies, or regulatory linkages to any potential or proposed "Wilderness" areas beyond currently defined boundaries.
In short, we understand our direction to help preserve and enhance current OHV use opportunities by developing a high-quality plan for the Rubicon Trail.
Please accept my apology for the confusion (and the need for your numerous e-mail responses to concerned individuals) caused by our error; feel free to transmit this e-mail to interested individuals or groups.
Thank you,
Steve Peterson
