I need some cheap parts for a roof rack that will primarily haul kayaks. I mount everything else lower and have a swingout tire, jack rear bumper setup.

Essentially i just need a couple of parts that have the contour of the hull bottom to make my own rack for two kayaks side by side(upright on there sides ends up too tall and they get ripped off the truck. This happened to my son and i on barrett lake last year at 1 am getting a late start into the trail :D they busted loose on a downhill section... It was fun, but not really

Not sure what you're after exactly. Why not just buy some Yakima kayak rack accessories and make a tubular 1" roof rack to mount those to?

Ilooked at that and a couple closed cell foam V shapes and strapes were $50... The sun would eat those up fast... I just need a roof rack w a couple of curves in it to match the hull

Then why not just cut/bend some metal and line it with some kind of padding where it the kayaks or whatever will contact them? Am not trying to be a jackass, but have see some of the shit you've built, so am wondering why in the fuck we're even talking about this. Whip something up and you're done.
