Last resort posting here, maybe you guys can help me. I am working on a 1987 dodge d-50 miniram. It is basically a mitsu. drivetrain. I can't for the life of me get the transfercase off of this thing. The main shift fork going into the trans looks like it needs to be disconected somehow but can't figure out how. Anyhelp would be great. Thanks

if it is like my 1989 dodge raider...then to seperate the t-case from the tranny you need to drive out a couple pins.
it is hard as can be to do in the vehicle.
is yours on the ground or still in the vehicle?

Cool I tried everyway in the world to keep from driving out the roll pin. I pulled the detent plugs in the shifter and everything thinking there had to be a better way. :shaking: Did the roll pin drive straight down, because it looks like it should drive out from the bottom? Also while I have your attention one more question. The reason I am pulling the t-case is under load i get a hell-a grinding noise and if I slow down to about 10mph it will clunk and act fine. Sounds like a shift fork is worn and not holding a gear in place to me? Sound plausible or should I look elswhere?

the roll pin drives straight down on mine and i needed to catch it before it fell into the t-case.
not sure about the noise....would have to be there to help troubleshoot that.
but let me know how it turns out in the end!!

Swap in the auto and forget about having trans problems, plus you can use the standard 6 bolt 23 spline t-cases for better low range options :D
