I am going to get a new set of tires for my 1999 Honda Foreman S for X-Mas, and I am thinking about the Vampires. Does anyone here hae experience with them? Also, what would be the best winch to buy? I am looking at Cabela's/SuperWinche's Trail Tamer 2500, aand the Warn 2500. Anyone here use those? On the tires, what size should I get? My friend has 26's on his Foreman and they work fine, but what width can I use before I have to buy new rims?

Vamp's are a good mud tire, wear pretty good, and don't ride to bad on hardpacked..You can run up to a 27" without a lift, but you will notice a pretty big lose in power unless you have some performance mods such as a pipe, jet kit,etc..If you don't wanna add any performance mods I would stay with 26" or smaller..You can run up to a 28" tire on a stock wheel so I dont think you have any worries there..Anything else I can help on let me know...Later!

What kind of performance mods would I need if I went with a lift and 28" Vampires? Or, for that matter, a 27" tire without a lift?

Yep good tires. I have run my buddies foreman and they work great. Not sure what size he is running but they make the stockers look small. I would buy the warn winch also.

If you wanna go with 27" I would get a HP kit from www.highlifter.com 28" Vamp's are extremely heavy, but you can turn them with just a HP kit..If you go with 28's I'd get a Big Bore kit from HighLifter along with the HP kit...

I've got the Warn 2500 on my '01 Big Bear, it's a damn nice winch. Pulled me out of some gnarly holes, most recently was thanksgiving day, had water/mud up to the seat, just hooked up and she yanked me out. I use it for plowing duties and for moving things around at my house. I've got this develish idea of winching my quad up a tree just to see if it can!

For your winch, I'ld spend the little extra $$ for the Warn. I've got the Warn 2000 (2500 were just barely becoming avail when I got it). It's only needed to be used once and worked fine. Biggest issue I've seen is that anyone/everyone that's mounted a Superwinch has had nothing but frustration, heartache, and a lot of colorful language. One extra snip it, get the roller fairleads.
On your tires, checkout atvconnection forums. I've found LOTS of good advice and various opinions, especially when it comes to something like tires.
