Hi I just got a 1997 Wrangler SE. I used to have a 87 4runner. I sold the 4runner and kept my 31's. I need a lift for my tj to fit my 31's. i was thinking about a 1 3/4 coil spring spacer kit w/ bumpstops. Has anyone had any experience woth these kind of lifts? also will I need new shocks ad an allignment? Im on a tigh budget help me out thanks

You could fit the 31's without a lift if you chose. I have seen it done a few times, and it looks great.

it shouldn't rub.. at least i don't think. some tj's come stock from the factory with 31's <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">. you can always get creative with a sawzall <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Some TJ's came stock with 30's. For 31's, just adjust the steering stops so you don't rub at full-steer. Congrats on the TJ!

the tj didn't come stock with 31" they were 30" and you can fit 31" with no prob on a stock jeep.

If you put on YJ flares it should help clear those "MEATS"! <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> lol

these lift questions kill me. go out in the yard with a tape measure and measure, then report your findings to ju.

When I bought my YJ it was stock and came with 31's and the tires didn't rub when I went wheeling.

If your going to put a lift on your heep, sell your 31's and go with bigger skins...you won't be sorry!

I have 7.5" of lift on my YJ now and have only 33" BFG's. I regret not going with 35's or 38's now!

you will not need as lift just using a 31 inch tire.
