: Lockright in D60 w/ 36's, good enough?

I'm trying to decide on whether to weld up the spiders in my rear 60 or just buy a lock right. I'm wondering if the lockright will handle the 36's. all i'm running is a 4.2, TF999 and d300 so not to much power to worry about. Trying to do this as cheap as possible but this jeep will have to drive it self to the trails, not a DD but some on road driving will be happening. Kinda worried about tire wear and axle shaft weakening with the lincoln locker.

I've had no problem with my rear lockright, I have 4.2l, 4:1 kit Dana300, 4.56 gears, and 38" tires.

They seem to make a good product so I would say give the lunch box locker a go. They don't work so good in rear 44's because the case breaks due to the load but that is no fault of the lockright.

I agree with Adam" <IMG SRC="smilies/rainbow.gif" border="0">"Ant on this one, get a spool and don't worry bout lincoln lockin it. It will not "weakin" the shafts to do this.

A lockright 60 handling 36's?!?! Hell yea, but why do that when you could get a spool for less?!?

I have a power lock in the rear of mine and I would much rather have gotten a spool!
GO SPOOL OR GO HOME!

Oh you are a tricky one. Have you ever done that trick before? I think that may be the first time I've seen it done.

I guess I'm a pussy then. After all, you are what you eat. Ya DICK! <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0">

I'm runn'n a lockrite (like the big pussy I am) on 38's and a TBI350 to boot. Not a THING wrong with it. Hooks up like a mutha and if you're like me, I happen to like driving my rig around town. If so, spool or welding (both fine choices) will drive you nuts and just wear tires. With the Lockrite it chirps and bucks a bit, but way less tire scrapage.

Those who bag on Lockrites 90% of the time have never touched one. For the 60, lemme tell ya, it's one beefy ass piece of steel. I installed it in about an hour and it's easy to deal with. SUPER easy. Sure I wanted a Detroit, but I'm on a budget. My shit works great and I paid half the price. I guess that's the mantra of a pussy. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">
