What is the angle on a stock duece? my buddy said he is running them on an angle and the stock perches are built on an angle. I am gonna be running leaves.

Thanks I need front and rear. It wont see much street time but I want to do it right for 1 time in my life. Or atleast get it close.

well BJ, for rear steer i would say go with whatever you need for the driveshaft. The reason for proper caster is to make the tires return to center when driving at speed on pavement. Most people will only use rear steer on the trail, so the caster on the rear axle is not that important. Now, if you plan on using rear steer when driving around town, then perhaps proper rear caster is something to consider...

My buddy said it was more he diodnt know for sure but the way hetalked it wa more then 4 deg. Where is Daniel when you need him?

Ok this is just a theory but I believe that it can cause a vibration running zero caster on a steering axle (refering to the rear axle in this situation). My thought is that the wheels put a slight amount of tension or compression on the tie rod end when they have something other than zero caster. So if you have zero caster the steering linkage will not have any tension on it, so if it has even a slight amount of slop in the linkage the wheels will kind of teeter for and aft, causing a hammering on the linkage making it more sloppy. does anyone know what I am talking about, or am I just thinking to far into it?

Actually all you guys are wrong. your stock caster needs to be between 4 and 6 degrees negative, however, if you run the duece front end as a passenger side drop then you will have 2 degrees positive caster with a flat pinion angle. This means that you will have to tilt the pinioon down 6 degrees in order to achieve 4 degrees negative caster. This is the problem I have recently run into and it is why I will have to have a CV on the pinion of the front rockwell. It is the only way to do it right!!!

Where in the world did you come up with this? No wonder your the only one who needs a $1000 front driveshaft!

I set my pinion angles for the driveshafts, I don't even know what my caster angles are :P

You mean run it as a driver side drop?

you are planing on making new ones right? i would think having them like that would put to much strees on the one lower link.

As for the front if it's going to be a off road only set the frount up to were you can get the most flex with out binding your joints. but don't go more then 6deg. i have mine set at 6 front and rear (bouth are front axels) and i think it will work out fine
