I have searched and searched, and read all the threads I could, but still have a question on SYE.
Has anyone come up with a front style yoke for the rear in a TJ case so that you can cut down a front shaft to use in the rear as a CV?
I have far too many spare front shafts kicking around to waste money on a new CV shaft.
I just want the facts Jack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lets narrow this down more by asking for more.
I want to retain the stock t-case shaft, and stock housing.
Basically I want to do the chop and tap method but use a yoke instead of the SYE flange.
does this make it clearer:flipoff2:

Rubicon express used to have a special yoke that they made to do exactly what you are talking about. I'd try calling them to see if they still have one.

The difference between the yokes on a 231 case for a YJ is one spline. They front is 26 spline and the rear is 27 spline. Most factory yokes that you find will be the 26 spline. I did the same thing you are thinking on a YJ 231 case. I bought just the flange style yoke from Currie enterprises for about $60.00. Machined a bearing and seal retainer and cut down and tapped the output shaft.

As long as I know it can be done, then I will research further. Thx for the info.
