I have a question, hopefully someone can help me. I need to know if the flywheel from my 350 chevy would work on my mark iv 454 that I am building. Would it work if I used the same starter? What other parts other then ignition are interchangable on these engines. Trying to build a 454 on a teenagers budget is hell.

Unless you spend some serious coin to get your 454 internally balanced, you are going to need a 454 flexplate/flywheel. 454's are externally balanced, so they need specific harmonic balancers and flexplates. 400 SB are the same way. Starter will interchange. Alternator and distributor will as well. Will need specific brackets for Alternator and PS pump. Good Luck. 454's are nice.:D

Thanks for the help. Would a stock HEI rebuilt with new msd coil high power module etc. be worth the money saved or should I just go ahead and get a entire msd HEI?

I'd rebuild what you have. Might check out the Proform Kit. You get a cap, rotor, hotter coil and hotter module for less than the MSD. If your current HEI is shot Proform has a ready to run HEI with all the goodies for around $170 @ most mailorder places. I have run both systems, and have had good results.

Here is their complete dist. (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=21377) I will check to see what I can find on the rebuild kit. I got mine from Northern Automotive in Sioux City, IA. Will check to see if I can find it on their Web Site.

I want to make my rear shocks angled inward on my corporate 14. Where if you know should i weld the shock mounts onto my axle. How should i create the upper shock mounts? What angle should the shocks be mounted to maximize the amount of flex that I can have?

on the HEI, you don't have to buy a really expensive one. I would just go and get a good factory one from the junk yard (i see 10 or 15 every time I go to pick and pull) and just get a better cap and module, the rest of the factory parts are fine. I know someone that has had a 350 with a stock HEI over 7000 rpm and it didn't have any problems.
