My FJ 60 with the 2F when I turn the ignition just clicks. Battery has 12 volts, I just replaced the starter with a spare that I had, and the headlights etc. still work. What else could it be? Thanks.

could be a bad battery check voltage under load. could be batterey cable ends. take off clean and make sure they are tight. could be ign. switch. bypass it and make sure the new starter is good.

If your running a gear reduction starter it might be the pole pieces are bad, they'll enguage the siliniod and drive but not power the motor.


That and a corroded cable to the starter will do the same thing.

Turns out that it was the positive battery cable end. Always check those first.;)
