I have a TF999 that I swapped into my '77 CJ-5 behind a 304. It does fine I don't have a kickdown linkage on it at all. So the other day I was running it and it was doing fine I was shifting it manually yah know startin' in 1st and then going to 2nd and so forth. Well on the way home I would take off in 1st and it would do fine I would rev it up and then when I would go to hit 2nd it wouldn't shift into 2nd it would just rev and wouldn't really move then you would go to 3rd and it would shift and go on. So I don't know what the prob is because you can put the tranny in D and it will shift through all the gears! You can also put it in 2nd and it will start out in 1st but, wont shift up to 2nd???? I looked underneath it and the valve body yah know the kickdown and shifter linkage is loose it will move up and down quite a bit so I don't know any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanx...
