: Trailing Arms - Positioning ?

I want to do a 4 bar linked coil conversion but I don't want to go too high. Keep my C of G down
I'm worried that on the front the sump might get in the way of the 2 triangulated rods going from the chasis to the top centre of the axel.

so........

Why do I always see the parallel rods attatching to the bottom of the axel and the triangulated arms ontop ?

Can you put the parallel rods ontop of the axel and have the 2 triangulated rods mounting below the axel ?

I don't want to use a panhard rod

That way I know they'd clear my sump. It's an offset diff so centrally mounting them on the axel would be to the side of the diff and I wouldn't really be compromising ground clearence.
I think it would also protect the front prop.

Rear is no problem - parallel bars under the axel & A frame on top.

Thanks

Joe

Don't have any pictures, but I have seen set ups like that. It should work.

what about swaping the triangle over on the top links. so that it attaches in the center of the Rig. The axle mount on the outer ends. It would clear the Sump. Just have to work out the mount points on a cross member.
