I would be drooling more if there were something other than XL's there. XML, XZL..........or some Continentals.

Actually, those belong to John Stazak ( Johns351c ).
He is selling them cor very good prices too. $100-175 depending on condition. The tires for $175 are practically brand new. There is probably noting in there with less than 70% tread.

I'm with you on that one. The XL leaves little to be desired in the mud. Great for sand though. Too bad the Army doesn't use the XM 47. Now that's a tire that makes me drool.
Michelin just won a large Army contract to supply XZL's. It won't be too long before we see these in large quantity on the surplus market. It baffles the mind how much our Army wastes money. Brand new tires are sold for pennies on the dollar because the expiration date has passed. If they are unsafe for the Army to use past a certain date, then why do they allow them to be used on the highway by the general public? Must be one of the Army's indirect ways of spurring on the economy through spending.:p
Regardless, I make my living by selling surplus goods so who am I to complain?
Best,

Well, it seems that I have made a bit of a mistake in my post above as to who is selling the tires.
Johns351c is the owner of the tires, but Daniel has put money into the tires to have them shipped. Both Johns351c and Daniel will be selling the tires from the same lot, and at the same price. So you can contact either of them to purchase the tires.
Sorry for the confusion, and if you feel it is necessary that I modify my first post, then I will do so.

There have been concerns raised about the number of plies of these tires. Apparently a lot of 6ply were dumped by the military cause the sucked.
Nowwww…. that is they sucked on Heavy vehicles like Mogs. The 6 ply maybe just fine for Mog axles on a light vehicle .... Well lighter than a Mog at 9700 lb and up.
Get a tire grover and put what ever grooves u want to help them spit out the mud?

Last I heard was this:
Hello List----Those tires were just disposed of by GL. They were from an AFB in Texas. There were two lots of tires. All Michelin 12.5R-20 12 ply. <NOS> and used from SEE tractors.-
