Ya can start by moving everything including cab back 12 inches :flipoff2: or cut out the firewall and trans tunnel until you have enough room to move everything back 12 inches and then fabricate/ correct all of you linkages, hoses, fittings, driveshafts, etc. Good luck and if you do it make sure that you post pics after buying a star to support the bbs.:D

btw welcome newbie:D :flipoff2: :D

Take it to a shop. Sign the check when they are done.

If you are asking this question, you aren't even halfway qualified to attempt it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

To do the engine/tranny/case, you would have to clearance the firewall for the distributor, build custom motor mounts, convert to electric fan, linkages would be a mess, etc, etc, etc.

move all the mounts back 12 inches, shorten the rear shaft, lengthen the front simple.
the problem you will run into is under the dash, the clearance at the back of the engine will move back a foot, look under the dash and you will see the heater is in the way and probably a bunch of other bits, you would either have to lose it or modify it in some way. then think about shifting, if its an auto it will be easier to extend the linkage but a stick will move the shifter back a foot and that means by-by bench seat it won't clear. foot longer rad hoses that probably don't exist would be required. and yes slectric fans would be easier than building an extra foot onto your fan shroud.
this is just off the top of my head there is always twice as many things as you think of. oh yeah the exaust will have to be redone, and the fuel lines shortened.
not to discourage you or anything but can you weld and do you have the shop available to do the work because it would be a very involved job.

Just a little thinking out side the box here; how about moving your front axle forward? With a leaf spring chevey you don't have alot of room to move the front spring perch, but it would probubly be simpler in the long run.

a 14" body lift should clear it! :flipoff2:

On a serious note, It would probably be cheaper/more reliable to extend your frame and move both axles forward 12". Or better yet just move the front, then you get better driveline/approach/departure angles although you sacrifice some clearance/wheelbase. If it where mine, I would buy a 3/4ton frame and put the chassis on it with custom body mounts.
