Try SPEEDWAY MOTORS (http://www.speedwaymotors.com/product.asp?strBase%5FList=&hilt=&source=&base%5Fno=91089411&str%5Fbase%5Fno=91081035%2C91089411%2C&header%5Ftitle=Keyword+Search&page%5Fname=search%2Fkeyword%5Fresults%2Easp&search%5Ftype=reamer&search%5Foption=Exact&deptsearch=&dept%5Fid=&dept%5Fid%5Fp=&dept%5Fname=&dept%5Fname%5Fp=&size1=&size2=&gender=&ShowImages=yes&sq=0&cont=1&intPgNo=1&mscssid=GV1LG198GMT28JRP6L1KFP1FHRTJ27C2) I've linked you to their REAMER section. I've had great luck finding oddball items from them for many many years! Good Luck!

I've heard (read: not experienced) about poor quality in the snap on reamer. It seems that it doesn't last very long. Something to look in to before buying one i guess.

I bought the snap-on one, and it's a POS. Don't waste your money.

the snap on one is a very cheap tool... not in the good way, mine came with the flutes all dinged up, and they said its just for repairing holes not enlarging them, it will work fine. I would be curious to see what ones do work well?

My snap-on reamer cut the initial taper in pretty easy, but then I had to enlarge it enough for the TRE to fit, and that part sucked. It didn't cut for shit. Don't even think about lube, it won't cut at all. After the first hole, the reamer is still in good shape, but I can tell you won't get many cuts out of it.

I had no problem enlarging with the SCP reamer. I also used brake fluid for cutting solvent, and that seems to work pretty killer.

when i need one, i'm going to go to the place we have our machining tools sharpened and have them make me one. i think they could probably do it for around $80.

I took my Snap On reamer, used a coupler and an impact gun and used that, turning by hand is for the birds. As was stated, the flutes are straight so it doesn't appear to be for enlarging holes too much.

if you are just cleaning up a hole, snapon will work. if you are intending to drill a straight hole and plunge a new taper, spend a few $$ on speedways- I have one, many easy holes later and still like new.

Bought both sizes. Asked my snap-on guy about dulling or breaking it and he said he warranty it for me no problem. Now Just waiting for a chance to try it out.

What is the tapper for the Chevy cone washers?

Does anyone make it?

Before you flame me, I've lined up too shops to make me one but I don't have the exact measurement of it. Plus they sure are high on price.

Can some explain how they measure these? what is the diffeance between 2" tapper per foot and 1 1/2" tapper per foot. What degrees are they?

The degrees are insignificant. you want 1-1/2" per ft to most standard TRE's. it's the depth that makes the large vs small TRE's etc.

that means it tapers 1-1/2" in 12 inches. :D

FYI for those of you that like the Snap On reamer. I saw a tapered ream at Orchard Supply that looked exactly like the Sanp On picture. It was about 40 bucks.
