looking at renting 4 sleds and hitting some snow, the end of january. there are alot of places to rent from and such, would like to see if there are people on here with first hand knoledge of the rental experience and give any advice or even recommend a spot to go. would basically like to fly there ride hard for a few days in some sweet powder and fly home. two of us have plenty of experience and two are novice riders I would say. thank you for any help.

I dont know of any off the top of my head but if your heading to Whistler or any larger ski area there should be something in the area.

I have had good luck renting here in Golden.....

Sold my sleds a couple years ago 'cuz I only went out a few times a year and have rented once or twice a year..... nice to try out the new sleds for sure....

Novice rider or not, if you aren't familiar with the area you'll want to hook up with some locals....

usually averages about 500 bucks for a day....

There are rental companies all over, watch the prices and do your shopping. Book hotels and go on the weekdays to save money.

thanks, revelstoke seems to be the common denominator on this subject. now I am on the fence, wife said why don`t u just buy a sled... trip is going to be around 4k. really want to go though.

i don't know if you have mountain riding experience but be aware of the avalanche risk before you head out. maybe take i training course, or go with some locals like was said above.

20k for a sled thats worth its weight.

Rent.

It's like rock crawling, if you can only do it 1-2 times in a 5 years span, would it make sense to buy? go with a buddy, or rent. The rental sleds are pretty decent, not the movie style sleds with 450 hp, but definitely something you will never forget.

Revelstoke is fun..... but crowded (lived and sledded there for 5 years), Golden has some great spots and will be less crowded....

if you go Golden..... DO NOT rent from Rocky Mountain Riders!

Valemount, Alpine Country Rentals. Vinny is a straight shooter, and a hell of a guide, doesn't hurt that he has X-Games hill cross medals and some big hill climb wins under his belt either.

+1 for Alpine Country Rentals in Valemount, i dont think its as busy as revelstoke and golden
