So where can I get one, and how much do they run. I have one on my rig right now, but it needs a rebuild, and I cant build a carb for crap. If someone wants to help me, I will supply beer, and pizza. I am in San Francisco

oh come on.. that has to be one of the easiest carbs in the world to re-build.

and nice old member # like that not searching.

any auto parts store will have one. 79 ford f150, 302, 4wd, ac, 3 on the tree, muffler bearings.

any of your local counter monkeys should be able to look it up with that description

I can build a motor blindfolded. Bend up a cage or a chasis, I can do. Build a suspension, no proble, but a carb I can't do for some odd reason. I will give it a shot. Oh an BTW, my member # does not mean crap. All it means is I have known abot this page for a long time. I rarey come here anymore because it is so hard to get rough the craop before I get to the good info.

Does anyone else find this hard to actually understand what is being said?

Is it:
"If you are stuck with a two barrel, then Motorcraft carbs rule. Even a dog could rebuild one. "?

Got my last one off a 72 Ford van. Motorcraft 2100... Rebuild kits are about a dozen bucks or so and they couldn't be easier to work on. You can do it, Dimi... :D:D:D

Nice pic... talk about a rebuild candidate :flipoff2:

They are easy to do. I suck at carbs and I did both of mine. Or go the  route

What is the minimum you need to hook one up? Mine is electonic choke so do I run that to power? Without it hooked up it just shouldn't have the fast warm up idle right? For some reason it revs up to like 4k and just dies when I start it.. If I keep it alive with gas it pops and just runs like crap. On my old holley all I had was the one fuel line to it cause that is all my fuel tank had. I just put in a newer tank with a return, vent, and all kinds of other stuff I just capped off exept the filler and the vent near it.

I would ditch the electric choke and put a manual on it. Kit costs $8 at any auto parts place.

Did it run right before the tank swap? Sounds like it's not tuned right.

You need a vacuum line to ported vacuum (dist), and the rear (larger port) to manifold vacuum.

Dimitri,

Kragen or Autozone sells them for about $100 bucks (rebuilt) Get one off a early to mid 70's car or truck for minimal vacuum lines. They are very easy to rebuild and work on (very simple carbs) I'm gonna rebuild Brandons, so bring yours by and I'll do yours too.

Some of the guys on this board are asses! I laugh at them as should you! I always feel better about myself if I help a person out rather than being a jerk to them. They should know that if they treat people like crap, that must mean thats how they'd like to be treated. Whatever makes them feel cool I guess...

Dog walker,

This is an older thread that got revived. Dmitri probably has it figured out. I was responding to the new question posted.

I hear ya! I will gladly work on anything but carbs - I have horrible luck with them. I am on my 3rd carb in 2 weeks...

But the 2bbl Motorcraft is very simple - get the rebuild kit and just go through it. If it doesn't work buy a rebuilt one and don't touch anything on it!

swapped out my holley and the tank at the same time. Ran a lot better with the holley - just had flooding issues I got sick of

is there a such thing as an "off-road kit" for the 2bbl? or possibly some way to adjust the floats for better offroading?
