Mine won't pass smog. The lower CO's are fine but at 2500rpm it fails smog miserably, and the fuel economy is horrible at 12mpg! I need pretty much all the parts that attach to the carb, and the carb itself. Mine is very worn out and I want to try a known good carb and the vacuum operated bits that it has. If anyone has these parts, or knows where I can get them, please let me know. Thanks!

o'reillys auto parts shows reman unit on their site:

It would be a good idea to check the simple things, like the choke opening fully when hot, that the O2 sensor is working properly, and/or that the cat-converter/s have not melted.

Hey Marty,

Already had it to a mechanic. A new 02 sensor didn't fix it, and there's no choke- its a feedback carb setup with an ECU. And did you see the price for the carbs? $500+! I paid that for the whole car.

Another member PM'd me and is hooking me up with all the parts I need, and then some, from his motor swap.

There is most definitely a choke on that Mikuni ECU controlled carb, on the primary barrel. It should close completely when it's cold, then open fully when the engine warms up.

If it's legal to swap carbs in your state, meaning, there is no visual inspection procedure in the smog check only a tailpipe test, then it may be legal to install a Weber carb kit. It's not legal in Kalifornia, for sure.

About the choke, I stand corrected then sorry about that. And there are only two counties in Nevada that have visual inspections: Clark County (Vegas area) and Washoe County (where I live). *sigh*.
