Does anyone recognize this locker, and what might the application be?
It has "MERCEDES BENZ" and 46035JO 01 in the casting
Thanks

It looks like a g wagon diff center.

Thanks, and now to find a buyer...:D
Dinking around with Scouts all the time, It is interesting how MB uses the notches on the ring side of this diff for the locking feature. Its just like they put the mayo inside the can with the Tuna

I've milled the locking dog for the difflock into the other side of the diff on this one so I can flip the front diff over to get away from the g wagon reverse rotation front driveshaft.

Are the carriers cast steel or SG iron? The combined cross sectional area of the dog teeth doesn't appear adequate.Do many of them fail?

Hi Bill,
They are cast a steel, they machine like their an alloy of some description.
I've not seen one actually broken, but i've seen a lot with badly damaged teeth. These are normally cause by incorrect adjustment of the actuator or failed seals in the master cylinder.
I've never actually had a diff fail it's only ever the cv's and the front short shaft that breaks.

I've never had one fail either but have seen them with damage teeth from engaging them while the wheels are spinning.
