Anyone tow with a Ford Expidition ?
How much will they tow ?
How do they do ?
How man mpgs ?
I have a chance to get one at a really good price
Please tell me everything you know about them
i have an 00
towed my rig aprox 15k miles.
4" lift
33" M/T
air bags
electric brake controller.
i have towed all over the west and baja with it. aprox 20k miles worth in the last few years.
my tariler and rig plus all the crap i put on the trailer tip the scales at 7k lbs. it tows fine. (not as well as my 02 psd cc but what does? ) mpg? no idea i never bothered to check. maybe 10. just a guess.
beware of getting one that is just turning 100k. they need expensive head work when you change the plugs at 100k.
mife loves hers.
what is a hell of a deal? around here you can easly get them from a private owner at low blue book.
bought ours new but i keep an eye one the price and the used markert on them is soft

My wife has one with the 4.6 and I have towed my 4runner,about 7k, with it and it did fine. Yes the 5.4 would do better but the 4.6 did ok. Mpg ? I 'm thinking it got about 10-12 also. Now I have a 2001 Dodge w/ CTD :D I get to tow with it for the first time next weekend. I can't wait.
ours is a 5.4
no problems. good rig

My bro tows with his now. It is a 01 I think, but it has the Triton 5.4L motor. It could out tow my old 97 Yukon any day of the week. I can't say how nice it was going to the trail in style. Now that the trailer got STOLEN, he is back to driving ot the trail. Oh yea, check those lugnuts on Fords OFTEN. His wheel studs backed out, and he lost a wheel and tire on 50 coming back from the Con.

My F150 with 4.6 towing got 5-8 mpg, not really a concern unless you are going places that the stations are far and few between. I had to haul gas to get to Idaho at night or on sunday.

I didn't need the bags but thet would have been nice and it's great if your camping. Just leave the third seat at home, fold down the second seat and roll out the sleeping bag. No need to worry about rain :D
