I own a bunch of Suzuki 4x4's, but recently I bought a Unimog 404 (with radio box) for just € 500.
It's in good stock condition. Low milage (5000 miles).
Very little rust for a vehicle from 1960!

I'd like to keep it stock with a few little improvements:D!
I'm planning to swap the box for a bed.
Furthermore disc brakes, fuel injection en different springs.

I thought about another Diesel swap, but I don't think the benifits outweigh the costs.
And the price of Diesel is getting closer and closer to the price of petrol in Europe.

I saw this website selling a fuel injection kit and softer springs.

What's your opinion about these products?

A pic of my Mog when I bought it.

I also bought this bed from a troop carrier.

I was offered a rebuild m130 engine for €450.

110 HP, but how much will remain when you swap the dual carbs for the Mog's single carb?
The civilian dual carbs are not suited for steep angles.

If I understand correctly the flywheel end oilpan need work.

Is it worth the trouble??

There was a slight mix up.
The engine is a M114 (2.5l 146 HP) with dual carbs.

Umm... I would use the dual carbs if I were you. The one thing these trucks definitely need is more power!

I got up at 6 AM this morning to dismantle the radio box.
It's a shame it has to go, because it was in excellent condition!

I read somewhere the coil springs of a Unimog 406 wil fit the 404 and fitting these springs will result in a lift of a couple of inches?
