: The rig in question is a 1990 hard body.
RonchZuki 12-19-2002, 09:49 PM I am moving my rear diff back as far as I can, and I know
I need to cut in a big way.
I am removing my fuel tank in favor of a fuel cell,
mounted in cab.
Figuring out fuel lines, and things like that I have sorted out already.
I have checked out the cool Samyota article, were Scwafish moved the fenders upwards
nice read, but I want to move them back as well, and still maintain a nice clean line.
The only other rig that I have heard about that would fit this is poppy's, back in the day.
If anyone can please help with detailed pictures, and whatnot...
Oh! I forgot to mention, I am running 37 MT/R's
Thanks
SamuraiChris 12-19-2002, 10:44 PM I saved this pic of Poppy's rig, I really like the way this looks. Probably something about the OD paint n the SXs.

RonchZuki 12-20-2002, 07:43 AM That is one of the pictures I have looked at.
If the fenders were cut all the way back, how would the
rear door hinge be kept in tacked?
Does anyone have any other pictures that
may help me out please?
thanks
0ILBURNER 12-20-2002, 07:46 AM Are you hacking up a factory F.I. hardtop?
Do you have any idea how rare those are?
If it's not a rust bucket, I would seriously consider hacking up something else more common?
bobaki 12-20-2002, 08:32 AM This will be a permanant black mark on your racord, dont do it.......................:shaking: :D
RonchZuki 12-20-2002, 08:33 AM Damn!

I'm doing the same thing as you... have to have the hardtop for the rain and cold around here... and hardtops are pretty common in the lower mainland. I'm running 37" boggers and I moved the rear axle back 12.5" inches and I'm gonna cut it exactly the same as poppy! There is a picture of his back door that shows how he moved one of the hinges up and mounted a fuel cell in the back just like I'm gonna! I say do it and show lots of pics !!!

Do you have this picture?:)

True Dat.
scwafish 12-21-2002, 08:46 AM The poppymobile did look cool from a distance. However, the door and the inner fenders of the poppymobile were big floppy mess, which is probably one of the reasons he threw it all away and went to a buggy. It was fixable but was definitely for someone who knew what they were doing with sheetmetal. Poppy had a grinder and a buzz box.
350 Samurai 12-21-2002, 12:31 PM I'm still using the tailgate in the stock location.

350 Samurai 12-21-2002, 12:39 PM Here's a close up shot of the hinges.
RonchZuki 12-21-2002, 02:31 PM Looks good.
However, the hinge location is different on the hard bodies.
