This just in from the Johnson Valley Improvement Associatoin. The remodel is done and the breakfast cooks are back in the kitchen!

• Y’all come! Johnson Valley Saturday Breakfast at the Community Center re-opens starting Jan. 7, 2012
Back to our routine, and aren't we glad!
Get a hot hearty breakfast on any Saturday for a reasonable cost, between the hours of 7:00 and 10:00 a.m.
Weekenders, here’s one meal someone else is cooking and cleaning up after, come enjoy!

The JVIA Community Center is on Larrea Road approximately 1 3/4 miles south of Hwy 247.

An added bonus meal:

• This Saturday evening, Jan. 7, 2012 is the famous Souper Supper…at least eight of our famous JV cooks are bringing a variety of good soups for you to sample. This meal has been dubbed “better than any restaurant” and we agree.

Bring your own bowl and spoon, the way they did it in the homesteader days, and share another good time!
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Soup at 6:00.
$4.00 donation, kids $2.00.

We haven't seen it yet, but from what I heard they updated just about everything. I know that they put in a well too. We hope to be out there for the Souper Supper on Sat. night (got a meeting in the morning, Cal 4 Wheel, ya know).

We did Souper Supper two years ago and it was a kick.

Besides the every Saturday breakfasts, they do a dinner on the first Saturday of the month. February 4 is the Baked Potato Bar. It's also the first weekend of KOH. We always head up there from the lakebed and pig out. Mark Matthews goes too. We highly recommend it.

SBWINVPS, apeters89, and I went to this last year after driving onto the lakebed, it was very handy and a good chance to talk to other Hammer town Residents.

Gonna be out in Johnson Valley this weekend? Go to the Johnson Valley Community Center for a great breakfast and meet the folks who have a view of the Hammers 24/7/365.

They live there because they love it.
