As for the springs, we have a full line of Ebiach Springs in stock. They start out at $49.00 and go up from there. If you have a sprung weight for your application I can calculate the correct spring rate for you. As far as valving goes, all shocks come with medium compression (.10) and rebound (.12) valving. This is what I would recomend for most rock crawling applications.
TPIJeep 12-21-2002, 07:57 PM Are there any advantages to the SAW shocks over the FOX?

For the most part, no, There isn't much difference. They are both remote reservoir monotube shocks. The one difference that comes to mind though is the fact that the SAW's, at full compression, have the shock shaft hit the top cap. This is not a problem with the Fox's. The Fox's also have a built it bump stop which is nice. However, if you are running bump stops, which I WOULD recomend with any shock, the SAW's will be just fine. Also, for the price $242.10, the SAW's are hard to beat. Just a side note, we carry both which I am sure you are aware of.
CrazyCraig 12-24-2002, 07:46 PM The bump stop that fox uses, is it just the bushing on the shaft?? If it is couldn't you just put a similar type bushing on a SAW?

Craig, yes I suppose you could but I would run something else. The bumpstops they use now aren't really much of a bump stop. They are different from the one you may have seen before.

All post a pic of the ones they use now when I get a chance.
OK................ The $242.10 shock deal has been extended through the 30th of January. Special thanks to those who have allready purchased. :fj:
flimmy 01-02-2003, 08:34 PM What is the benefit of the Remote Reservoir Shocks over the non Remote Reservoir Shocks for rock crawling ?

Second that.
I was under the impression that the remote reservoir was needed for more oil and better cooling of said oil. I see this as very useful in desert racing but is it really needed in our sport???
I did have a friend running coilovers without remote reservoirs in competition and he didn't have any problems.

yep I believe you ahve nailed it...plus it helps keep the oil from getting all foamy...but honestly is it really need in rockcrawling:D:D:D I dont think so...
KingOf_Pain 01-03-2003, 08:52 PM That's a great price!
Gordon 01-04-2003, 02:29 PM The remote resrovoir sway aways have a floating piston that keeps the gas and oil seperate. The emulsion shocks don't, so in those the gas gets all mixed up in the air creating, yep an emulsion. With this design the valving efectivly changes depending on how much air is already whipped into the fluid, so they are harder to set up with the ideal valving.
You are right it probably doesn't make a huge difference for rock crawling, but if you are going to spend a lot of money on some bitchen shocks, you might as well get some bitchen shocks.

rokdog03 01-10-2003, 05:15 PM will you beat tyhe price of btnmike's sale price on the dual rates with springs and everything

As far as the price goes on the shock and hardware (ie dual rate and triple rate coil kits) we WILL beat any price advertised, hands down. However, it is hard to match pricing on similar but obviously different products. By this I mean you cannot compare some generic coil spring (ie. Sway-A-Way or Stock Car Products) to a quality wound German made coil spring from Eibach.
You get what you pay for.
wngrog 01-12-2003, 05:29 PM Did the price go up after the 1st?

Ok, the MSRP price from Sway-A-Way will be going up in the next month or so. I was unable to get an exact date but can assure you that it will be rising significantly. I will keep our sale going untill I get word of when, exactly the increase will take place. So there it is............
TJ Fan 01-13-2003, 10:01 PM Pig,
Is there a difference in the steel for the coils....i.e. quality? I was pretty involved with european cars for awhile (back in the day:D ) and I remember Eibach being one of the few manufacturers with TUV approval from the goverment. Is this better than what comes from SAW or others? Are these other spring manufacturers making correct rates for what we are building or is it a price issue/compromise? Thanks

It's interesting that you ask this. My answer............ Hell Yes! I could start laying into all of the mumbo jumbo, which I can if you want and start explaining the shot peening process etc......
However, if you do want more information I found a very intersting write up on the web about Eibach coils and their manufacturing process. Click the link if you are interested.

Big96zr2 01-22-2003, 09:58 PM Is there any certain way to figure spring rate? Would I need a single rate or dual rate? What is the difference? Coilovers are a new thing too me, but I would really like to know. Thanks
