hay all im fabben my mounts using some suspension bushings as this is working out easier than retrofitting in the dodge mounts in etc..

I tried to snap some shots that show what im trying to do but a few ideas on where to brace the frame side of the mount would be great.

My first thought was to add a triangular gusset (~3"x3") along the top leading edge on both frame plate with them pointed outwards. 1 thought was to put that gusset down a bit or even add a second on each side, 1 top 1 bottom... Then i started over thinking it and figured i better stop. Im trying to make things strong with out just throwing 1/4" at it....

ideas/sugestions ?

PS.....the power steering box was hung by the axle with care...

nozuk - im not sure which part only 2 bolts used... 1.5" box, is notched to hold tube, has a 1/2 hole drilled and a ~1.5" 1/2" bolt is pointed out and welded from the inside , the stock cast zuke mount drilled to 1/2" and new mount bolted to cast engine mount... can't spin due to lower mounting....

new frame parts will be welded. with a 1/2" - 4" bolt holding the motor in double shear. (grade 12)

edit-----> oh i think i see what you might be ?ing There are reinforcment washers welded to the outside edge of the plates to keep the holes from possibly stretching out...

Bobaki - you see what you looking for? (if you see something I mucked up, please point them out)

edit #2: I still would like input on the mount bracing, as per usual posting pic can have the "oh wow cool" affect rather than providing actual input. Contrary to popular belief I dont know it all,

here are my first thoughts #1 #2 ????

Either would work but I think the way you have it is strong enough. The way the motor torques your brackets shouldn't see much side load, not to mention you have 4 plates really doing the job (2 on each side).

Motor mount will be fine when you gusset it.....

But put some 1/4" plate where that steering box is!.....You will twist that box right off..

These were my thoughts, but it wouldn't hurt gusset them now, than have to go back and fix it later.

When in doubt, make it stout :)

rudezuke - where to put the steering box plate? which part will twist? my goal for this weeekend was to hang the box, and start some suspension stuff.... the rest later....so any idea can be put in at this point....

Presently things aren't fully welded or braced at all. I still need to section out the other frame rail there will be at least 2 frame connectors serveing as a winch tray and spring mounting (s/r)

The 2 frame rails are drilled and sleeved with the inserts welded.

There are several small "spacers" between the rails, not in at the moment.

would an angled brace from the upper rail tube to the crossmember (when its installed) fix what your ?ing)

keep the ideas, suggestions coming, im taking notes
