: What's all this stuff worth, eh?

I'm asking a serious question, I'd like serious replies.
I've been collecting parts for my CJ7 but now I've come up with a show-stopping problem. I tore the main ligaments that connect the bicep to the forearm in my right arm. So, there won't be any wrenching or lifting with that puppy for a long time. Not only does it hurt like hell but I have lost most of the strength there too. :(
Therefore, I'm 'considering' selling my project. Here's what I have and before ya'll start drooling and askin, I'm NOT parting it out or selling off the extra parts. If I'm gonna do it, it has to all go together. :(
1982 CJ-7, power steering, no a/c but I have a york for it. :D
straight 6
T-18 (granny low 4-speed)
Dana 300 (single stick)
Full hard top and hard doors
Full roll cage
Beefy nerfs
AMC 20 rear (open)
Dana 30 front (open)
Parts..........
Dana 60 rear, 410 w/lockright, 65" wms-wms, 8 lug
Dana 44 front, 410 w/lockright, 67" wms-wms, 8 lug
Warn hubs, steering linkage. All in good shape.
It runs and drives pretty good but does have high miles (147k). Engine leaks oil out the main seal but I have another engine just pulled from an 83 CJ-7, with pretty much everything on it, including a Clifford valve cover.
It's currently registered till Oct 2003. Clean title.
I just can't work on it with my arm all fawked up. So, let's hear your guestimates. I have pics but can't post em till I get home this evening. It's white with a black top and not bent up or rusted at all. :(
Big Rich 12-23-2002, 01:51 PM Sorry to hear about your arm Glenn, when your ready to wheel, let me know....I think I could drive your rig for you:D

I remember last time we talked just a month or so ago and you mentioned your arm problem. :( Did'nt think you'd tear it. Get well bud! Your rig has power steering. I'll open your beers for ya. lol.
Hard to say what all that's worth. I just dont really know. But I'll throw something out there just because I know it will get the discussion started... :flipoff2:
4-5 Grand?
Keith Strong 12-23-2002, 02:19 PM 5K no problem. The axles alone are worth a grand IMO.

Glenn 12-23-2002, 03:14 PM Thanks ya'll... I'm not totally incapacitated. I can still drive my runner... I saw the doc this morning for a follow up and he advised me to take it easy on the arm for 3 to 6 months and THEN work on building some strength back. Guess I tore it worse than I first thought. I take that to mean I shouldn't be lifting (or trying to lift) axles, etc. :( He agreed... Good thing it's wintertime. Could be worse... I coulda sliced myself up with a friggin box cutter. (Keith) :D:D
Anywho, I haven't decided for sure if I wanna sell everything or hang on to it till next summer. Damn, gettin old sucks. Things break easier and takes longer to heal...
SeanP 12-23-2002, 03:37 PM Glenn:
Sorry to hear your issues. If you need any help moving stuff or anything, shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to lend a hand.
SeanP
FULLSIZE 12-23-2002, 05:39 PM i'd say $49.95  oops, misplaced the .
dirtrod 12-23-2002, 06:28 PM You can do just about anything with one arm... if you plan it out and do some rigging. You might have to buy some medicinal tools ...gantry crane, engine hoist, ratchet straps etc. ;)
Dustin 12-23-2002, 06:32 PM How'd you tear it? Killing kittens? You're gonna have to learn to use the other hand. I'd guess closer to the 5k mark. I think my truck would be worty maybe 10k and its done and a 94 w/ 70k miles. Let me know if you need any help over there gimpy.:D
The Rockslut 12-23-2002, 06:36 PM Well, I will trade you my 91 Honda 2 door accord for it and you keep the axles to sell to someone else. :D
Glenn 12-23-2002, 07:41 PM Thanks for the offers (SeanP, Dustin, etc). I can manage most things. Just have to be careful not to tear anything else and give it time to heal... No heavy stuff and no kitten killin. At least not with the right arm. :D:D:D
Rockslut, call me. 803-6940 :D

Well, it happened a month or so ago. I didn't think it was that bad but apparently It's worse than It seemed. I wasn't doing anything unusual. Just guiding an engine towards the motor mounts while my kid was lowering it down. I was reaching over the fender, pulling up and pushing back toward the firewall at the same time. I guess I had my arm in an awkward position and all of a sudden, I heard a tearing sound from my arm and I yanked the arm back so quickly that I pulled a muscle in my back too. Damn... The next several minutes was spent rolling around on the ground with this searing pain in my arm. I didn't know what had happened except it hurt like hell... Ever hear of 'Blinding Pain'?? That's what it was. It hurt so bad, I couldn't see anything... I went to the doc then but he just thought I pulled a muscle. Well, apparently it's worse than that. I tore some ligaments that attach the bicep to the forearm. No fixing that I guess. Just takes time to heal and I'll forever have a loss of strength in that area. Fortunately I didn't lose the whole thing, just a portion of it ripped apart. I've been trying to work with it but the doc now says I need to be nice to it for a while.
So there you have it. Gettin old sucks. Damn old rubber bands don't hold up like they used to.
Wanna buy a Jeep?? :flipoff2:
