I know that, as a nucking fewbie, I will surely be flamed for this, but in true newbie fashion;
Show me pic's of your frame table/ jig table/ frame plate that you built to build your buggie on. Please include dimensions such as height and materials and how you would do it different...(flame suit on!)

I dont consider this a "newbie" question other than the fact that it was asked by a NEWBIE:flipoff2::D
I am interested too...I never thought about that until I saw Carl and Vons buggy on one up at their shop Rocklogic4x4...here is a pic of theirs

Yeah, Carl and Von's is what got me thinking, it only makes sense, especially if you are going full tube with no OEM frame to reference off of. and the fact that you can wheel it out on the front lawn apeals to me too.:D

Sorry, no photo, but from memory from the IMSA days:
4" x 6" box channel. 0.125" thick. "X" in the middle, 3' legs on it. Legs all had adjustable screw jacks.
A support was in the middle of the "X" so a floor jack could lift the whole thing off the floor by 1" to move it within the shop.
Rod Sorenson made it to build "tube frame" IMSA racers (ahem, to keep them stock at the time the stamped unibody floor was then used inside the tube frame). Nice thing was the top was absolutely level, took out a let of guess work as you could use a level during building and never second guess moving the frame if you sat on it, pounded against it.
Frame must have weighed 2000# or so, it was massive... but worked great.

I hadn't thought of the adjustable leg height idea, that will need to be incorporated...

My father inlaw has a low table for large Jigging. it's a 4x6 sheet of half iin plate on 4x4 leg stock. its only about 14 inchs tall. He doesnt us it specificly for frames but does use it to jig large materials. he just welds tabs to the table and when done cuts it off. Works great.

this tabel is 2 - 4x8 1-1/4" plate with bolts on the bottom to level it the only thing it is extremly heavy around 1,800lbs but I don't have to care about it bending because it would have to take alot to do that

rockkiller, did you tack weld the tube to the table or clamp it some way?
