I'm rebuilding my 1356 and I' having a problem with the disassembly.
I have the case separated, and in the rear half I have the rear output shaft still in the case with the oil pump/chain wheel on the shaft.
I cannot remove the shaft from the case - after I removed the snap ring that is real close to the bearing in the case I am stuck with the little ball bearing that is embedded in the output shaft - it won't pass through the bearing.
Is it supposed to be a spring-loaded bearing like on a ratchet extension or something? It's solid and won't push into the shaft.
How do I get past this?
