Putting a new motor in the 87 Waggy and the parts stores are telling me they can't get a manifold gasket for my vehicle. Anyone know of a part number or store that will carry this?

If your talking the intake manifold gasket. I believe it is also called a "valley pan". Kragen has them in their computer... I just can't find the part # right now.

When I did mine, there wer two options, either the OEM valley pan, which I got at O'reillys, but had to order anywhere I went, or Mr. Gasket makes a set of conventional paper gaskets like a chevrolet, which Summit and Jegs both carry.

You're talking adapter gasket for a four barrel manifold to use a two barrel carb? If so just buy some plain gasket material and cut your own using the adapter and an xacto knife.

If you're talking about the actual intake manifold gasket and not the carb adapter gasket you should get the valley pan type gasket and not the mr. gasket types. The pcv valve on amc engines is at the back of the valve cover and if you don't use the valley pan type gasket you will have alot of oil getting sucked into the intake. You also need to install the heat shield thats riveted under OEM manifolds to your manifold if it does not have one already. DENNIS

I actually really prefer the paper gasket. Just personal preference, I suppose..

Perry, last time I got one, CarQuest had them. Not real convenient for you, but I bought it at Fillmore Auto Parts.

Well the manifold gasket was what i was looking for but if i could make my stock two barrel work on the existing 4 barrel manifold that would be cool too.

ick.
you're putting a 2bbl carb on a 4 bbl manifold?
I've got a 4 bbl Holley 600 off of my 78 Cheif's 360 you can have for cost of shipping. it needs a new power valve, but it's better than choking your motor.
