Depends which year FSR you are talking about. My brother has a 2000 FSR which I rode for a little bit when my bike was getting brakes sorted. The only complaint was that it had to low of a bottom bracket height as I would nail the cranks, chain rings and bottom bracket on a lot of obstacles. I really liked the FSR but the low bottom bracket killed the idea of getting one for me. Mind you I do weigh quite a bit and the rear air shock was overmatched due to my weight. For my brother the bike turned out to be great (he's about 220 lbs) and he punishes his FSR (4 feet drops regularly). The 2001 models have appeared to fixed the low bottom bracket height and have monocoque frames which makes them a little cooler and stronger. It's a great bike ,the suspension geometry works very well and will definately take the punishment. For the price it's probably one of the better bikes out there.

I have an older version of the FSR and I like it a lot. I have been looking at the newer modles and they seemed to have fixed the problems mine has.
