I wish bikes weren't so damn expensive. I'd love to have one. But I can only afford one expensive hobby.

The only reason I could afford it was I worked in the industry and got all them pro deals.

I haven't worked at the shop for at least 3 years now and the owner is still giving my mom everything at cost.

Mom has two bikes worth about 5 grand each.

Sounds like your mom is working it harder than you are, MonkeyBoy!

When I ride, it's usually the road. But... my MTB is a '99 Fisher Procaliber. Got a '96 Bianchi Grizzly RC for sale, too.

I ride a Klein Pinnacle. It is about 8 years old but I am always upgrading the parts on it. Right now it has a mixture of xtr, xt and lx parts, avid arch rival 50 brakes, shimano 747 pedals, chris king hubs, so on and so on. I haven't had a chance to ride at all this year but i love it. My next bike will be a full suspension, but right now all of my money is going into my sas

Ahh, a Klein fan. They are good bikes. I'm partial to hardtails myself. Mine is Rascal, all XT, with the only changes being the Nuke Proof handlebars and an Italia Selle seat. I've run the gamit on tires from the super knobbies that are only good for Washington mud to the Klein tires that came with it.

I still work at the shop once in a while when the owner goes out of town.
I usually work for parts these day.
I worked one weekend and picked up a SID fork
Kore carbon handlebars for the wife.
and a bunch of other little things like Co2 cartriges and a bladder for my camel back.

I need to pick up a rebuild kit for my Speedplay road pedals so I can get back on the road bike.

My dream bike would be the new Intense VPP dh bike with a shiver, race face parts, shimano xtr, onyx hubs on mammoth dh rims, nokian gazzaloddi 2.6's and hope dh disk brakes.

i sold my bike... gotta get a new one bad! anywhoo, i'll pretend i still have my last bike

it's karpiel disco volante. the rearend was modified so it got 12" travle with a fox tc. it had all the downhill goodies discs, mrp, raceface cranks, gazzolod 26x3.0 tires ... the thing was sick! in the picture it has a hanebrink 9" travle fork... it sucked. i replaced it with a 00' marzocchi monster t. best fork i've ever used, hands down. this bike was a pig and weighed in at 54# i ran a 48t ring up front and 8 spd rearend.

before that i had foes lts... it too was sweet just it only had 6" travle.

as soon as i can get the cash i'm getting a karpiel armageddon frame and monster t fork.

wish i had a better picture to do this rig justice!

here the old foes lts. it had a whit bros dc110 fork in the pic... it was later upgraded to a whit bros ud150. sweet little bike but the rear suspension wasn't nearly as good as an active setup like on the karpiel.

if you know foes and karpiel you'll ask if they were run on bushings... my answer is of course i went with full bearings.

Here's my list,

Prototype Scandium mountain frame with a Fox RC shock, Sid Race, prototype disc brakes, blah, blah, blah...

Mikkelsen mountain tandem.

Mikkelsen road tandem.

Custom Waterford W-13 road bike with Record 10 speed.

Waterford track bike with Dura Ace track components.

Gunnar Crosshairs Cyclocross bike with Dura Ace/XTR drivetrain, Tufo tubeless cross tires on Spinergy wheels. For training in the summer.

Somec Custom Cyclocross bike with the same parts as my Gunnar, but about 5lbs lighter for racing in the winter. These are the bikes I ride on a regular basis these days. I have a few more bikes that are older classic stuff that I just want to keep around, and a couple of frames that I am in the process of building for myself. This is yet another addicting, expensive hobby.

Anyone that is consdiering buying a new bike I would highly recomend K2. They are a very customer orientated company. But unfortunitly for the extreme lack of riding I have been doing I am debating selling the bike I shall have to see what happens.

2001 Specialized big hit with DH link, a boxxer, along with the usual DH stuff. I talked to some of the guys that went to moab just recently (might recall my bike) and Im glad they let me hang around and check out their rigs. Its much better to see them in person.
