To make you feel a little better. They closed a ton of good stuff at Skagg's
They basically took out all the tech and steep sections
Still fun, just not as fun as it was.

When I was out there I went to China Camp which is not that far past the Golden Gate bridge. There is a Bike shop in Sunnyvale called Calmars that know alot of great trails.

Theres actually alot of trails around..

Theres Wilder Ranch. Theres Grizzly Mountain(right at hwy 9 and skyline) Theres Kennedy(major Bitch) Theres the LG trail that takes you up and over the damn, which there are a bunch of trails on the other side of the damn. Then theres the one trail on hicks road, I cant remeber the name..

My riding days are over for at least 10 weeks..

China Camp and Tamaranch ,Saratoga Gup (hwy9-35)for fun and Mt.Tam through the Headlands for fitness I also do a lot of road riding in Marin(Alpine,Stintson,Bolinas-Fairfax,Lucas Valley,Paradise) and Iif I just want to do a quick ride i just go to Golden Gate park which is two blocks away from my place

Actually Golden Gate park has alot of fun trails in it.... There use to be a lot of built up stuff in the Redwoods by the rose garden. The gardeners would tear it down and the bikers would build it back up

About Skaggs... I wish I would have ridden my dirt bike there back when P.I.T.S ran a club there

It looks like we ride the same trails...well when I ride. I live very near to Hicks road and Camden. I ride up in the Summit Road area. I used to ride the Kennedy trail a lot when I needed the work out. Now I really need the work out and I don't know if I could still make the loop. -Pete

HAhaha no I have had that happen but I didnt break anything..

I broke them on the clean up, well I think i fractured them, because all was getting better until I sneezed on the friday afterwards, I heard a pop and it felt like someone sucker punched me in the kidneys, So I waited a while and the feeling was going away, then I coughed and almost crashed my car because the pain was to much.. Went to the doctor and found out I have to cracked ribs. Now I have to wear this damn thing for 6 weeks or more depending

In the antioch area there is the Contra Loma resevour area Black Diamond Mines These parks are connected.

Fire roads. Exellent training area if you race. Long hot climbs in the summer time
20 mile dirt loop that I used to ride. If I wanted to go further I can ride on over to MT Diablo from balck diamond mines.

Theres a new Place that hooks up with the Los Vaceros resevour
Can't remember the name of the place but it is a park just off Marsh creek Rd.

I like the Marin Headlands because I can ride from the City and you can make the ride as long as you want ,from the regular loop up to to Tenesse Valley ,a litle longer loop down to Moss Beach or all the way at to Tam and back

San Carlos/Water dog lake off Ralston above Alemeda De las Pulgas has a killer trail that is my favorite because it is , well you just have to ride it!!!. The single track part we call the 57 chevy trail beacuse you ride OVER the car!! GREAT Technical. Offers jumps. 5-10 mile loop.. 25min.-1.5 hrs
Contact me!

Fremont Alder Park in Cupertino off 85 & 280 is up my street. Great hills and cool single track with fire roads, partly shadded ,popular Place, great view. 5-15 miles different trails and loops.

Skeggs hwy 35/Skyline has allot of great technical, Voodoo trail, etc. Suggest you park at the vista then ride South to the next enterance. To bad they took the Porsche out.
Minumum 1.5 hr ride mostly shadded 5-10 loop.

Nissen Parks & Soquel trails off hwy 17 near lexinton are the BOMB!! 3-6 hrs of hard riding, it's shadded

Saratoga Gap hwy 9/35 is great too!
mostly single track. 1-4 hr ride mostly cross country ride, technicall. Cool weekend ride or just after work.

Los Gatos hills St. Jones trail- about 2+ miles up then back down.
Kennedy trail hard core training about 5 miles up , half shade.

Alpine trail in Hills of Los Altos
Hill climb 5miles up to hwy 35, then along 35/Skyline then down hill for 30 minutes.
Part Fire road and Single track .

Pacifica along hwy 1 has allot of good bombing hills and it's cool there.

Wilder Ranch is mostly open not allot of shadded technical trails.

AnyBody Want TO RIDE!? I'm looking for riding partners to get back in shape.
Give me a ring
PM mE

Brail Trail
I really like that trail. I got to rid it with some guys that helped get it opened just before it was opened to the public. It was so cool bombing down a hill where you could barely tell where the trail was. It should be interesting to see how it changes now that there is a sign at the top and it gets more traffic. I wonder how the logs will hold up?

ToyotaBoy, I live right by that waterdog trail. I suppose you have also ridden up behind Carlmont high school? Short trail up the hill and back down again? I live at the bottom of the trailhead. Look for the solid axle tacoma. I don't ride much at all anymore. BTW, waterdog is in Belmont (gotta show some belmont pride)

I rode braille(sp?) last night - did that and Tractor Trail both - what a rush. I ride up at Demo almost every Thursday night with co-workers and friends. Usually ride the downhill pretty hard, but it's my current favorite ride.

I also have ridden Hicks road (once) and up into Sierra Azul (which connects to Kennedy). It was dark and I was by myself so I turned back to hicks after getting somewhat lost around Mt Umunuhm or however the hell you spell it.

I guess it is Belmont because Carlmont school is in Belmont, the back side is killer. I've done a bit of trail maintenance on single track when we had flood storms.

Damm I wanna RIDE

I could probably handle a ride up behind carlmont one afternoon. Maybe around 5pm on Tuesday or Thursday would work well for me. Do you have a pump that does presta valves? Otherwise I have to take my bike to my dads to put air in the tires.

Snutty, I don't ride very much at all. I have a bike. A trek single track with front suspension (manitou mach 5). Oh. And a gel seat.

Thats hella funny!

one time I was ridind black diomonds mine @ mt diablo in the middle of winter. it started to rain pretty good so I tried to take what seemed to look like a shortcut (on the map). I decended down into a muddy valley full of cows. My wheels would not even turn they where so muddy. I had to cary my bike (around 60lbs with mud) through shin deep mud, in the pouring rain, with pissed off cows grunting at me. I swear they didnt like me being there
