Yes and no. The dimensions are the same, and they will work with a little modification. There are no provisions for the windsheild spreader bars on the hardtop. You need to cut away the lip so that the hardtop will fit over the bars. The tailgate on the CJ-7 hardtop is different also, and may require modification.

Actually, an '81-ish and up CJ-7 top will bolt right up on a YJ, and clear the windshield spreaders, but the older tops have a thick molded lip at the windshield that requires grinding to clear the spreaders, the later tops have a metal strip riveted to the top that is thin enough to slip behind the spreaders.

Yeah, real hardcore tech, but tech none the less.

i put a cj hard top on my 87, all i had to do was trim the lip where the windshield spreaders were using my dremel tool. took all of 30 mins, including bolting it to the tub.

I am told that the CJ and Wrangler are all interchangable with stipulations.

If you want the door type rear gate-swings to side- then you need to change the top to accomodate this. The swing down gate will work on a wrangler, but have to drill some holes and change the top to the older type.

The doors I am told are the same dimensions. The wrangler has latch handles and vent windows that work. They still have a tendency to crack the sheet metal at the top..
