Well my fuel pump crapped out and shot about half of my gas tank all over the driveway. Like my gas mileage isn't bad enough right. Well I call up Folsom Toyota and he says they no longer offer an OEM pump and says it's no longer on file. What's up with this?

Do you guys go with the aftermarket pumps for the 2f or does someone actually sell OEM pumps for a decent price?

Besides MAF.

Try Spectre Off Road, page 28 seems most of the new ones are $84 and the used ones $35-40. Hope it helps, 818-882-1238.

All three of my local Toyota dealerships can get them and at least two of them have them in stock at any given moment...

Larry H Miller Toyota...
Mark Miller Toyota...
Karl Malone Toyota...

I have ordered pumps from them in the past few months...Good Luck:D

I would consider an electric fuel pump. mount it by the gas tank & you can say goodbye to vaporlock forever (big problem here in vegas). plus they only cost like $20-$30 at most parts stores & last as long as a mechanical unit.

I got a good one from NAPA, Beck/Arnley, for about $69. It's exactly like the stock fuel pump, made by Kyosan in Japan (OEM manufacturer?).

I am a fan of electric pumps in some circumstances but I wouldn't go as far as to say they are better than a OEM pump. I never have problems with mine vapor locking and that includes 10 hour days in Moab in 100+ weather.

The problem with an electic pump on a 60, is how do you get the return fuel pack to the tank? A FJ40 you can just run the line directly from the carb back to the tank but not on a 60, it is part of the pump. Also to correctly wire an electric fuel pump up, you need to run an oil pressure switch so that the pump only works if the vehicle is running or starting. Otherwise it is a major risk of fire and will cause permature failure of th pump..

Another downfall of electric pumps is the high need for clean gas. You almost need to run two filters, one before and one after the pump due to the amount of crap in most old tanks.

Good Luck:D
