Ok, already did a search on this. Last night I got pulled over because my license plate lights don't work. Cop turned out to be a nice guy, and he just gave me a fix-it ticket. I have 14 days to get it done. I was just going take off the kit, but now that I have to fix it I might as well do it right. Body and mechanical are within my grasp, but electrical eludes me for some reason. If anyone knows specifically about it or knows in which direction to point me to a website with a "how to".
Thanks again. You guys have really been a big help in my restoration process already.

Start here:

Check the bulb...

Check the bulb contacts on the base...they get rusty

Make sure the 12v wire is still sodered correctly to the bulb base

Make sure you have a good ground...try using a peice of wore and grounding out the light frame...

Use a test light to check for 12V at the bulb....

More than likely it will be a ground...they rely on the door hinge to ground them...rust is a PIA...Good Luck...email if you still need help:D

Always start with the simplist things first.

1. Bulb
2. Power to the bulb
3. A good ground etc.

Good luck.

and if that don't work, pick up some of the lighted fasteners from autozone and wire them in. that will do the trick and looks clean.
