I have a 4.3L mated to a sm465. It has an aluminum bellhousing and is cracking badly. Is there a steel(cast) bellhousing that will mate the 2 and mate a hydraulic clutch as well?

Yep, just about any chevy bell housing will work. They are all interchangable except for the 2.8 style and maybe the newest ones.

u have to have the larger bearing retainer hole, not the small one, for the sm465 to fit, make sure u don't buy a small one

Look for a bellhousing from a GM walk-in van. My buddy got one from an '86 with a 292/SM465 combo.

It is iron, an uses a hydraulic slave on the passenger side.
