I got a 94 YJ....
I went to a 4wd shop in charlotte and the salesperson told me that I would gain 5 1/2 inches of lift with a spring over lift on my YJ..
Is this typical? Is it better to go with a spring over lift or a body/suspension combo?
I want to fit 35' -36' tires on it..

i would say hell yes cause pocomp and anyother kits just are a big waste of money and anyway you can almost use everything you have and just perches, brake lines.sye, and shocks and your done.

If I was to do mine over again I would have gone SOA with RE 1.5" SOA springs and then run 35's with no problem and plenty of room to flex.
You could do the SOA first on the stock springs and then go with the RE's when the stockers sag too bad to spread out the cost.
If you search around on here you can find all kinds of info on SOA and what springs to use.
Good Luck.

lol i did mine in my garage when i was only 15!!! i did not know what the hell i was doing and i wasted like 500 dollars on a 4 inch lift with shackles, and decide it was shity, and put all of that shit on the spring over, hella tall and guess what i did not care cause shit i had a spring over. i would say i don't really know shit about spring overs, just that they flex and give you some nice lift for the dollar. so i would say any grown man would be able to do it and if you don't have the tools most people in a block from you should.:flipoff2: :flipoff2:
