Last year CalROCs put on a fund raiser for the Rubicon. Rich Klein and I made a plan that this event would help our cause. So there's no confusion, the money has yet to change hands as Rich and I keep meaning to make a big PR show out of delivering the check to FOTR, with a big crowd, press, etc.

We just didn't make that happen yet because everyone is so busy and there's so much going on. We've decided to skip the PR event and just write it up as a press release.

Del, Do you mind if I ask WHY the PR event is not being done? A press release is almost pointless. Tv stations won't cover an event unless there is 'good' video, trust me, I know this. All we would have to do, is get get 25-50 or more vehicles in one spot, have Big Rich from calrocs come out, you there as head FOTR and give us a little publicity. Tv station would come out, im almost positive. If you do it in sac, I can ask kcra to cover it so we can have affiliate coverage of the event. If done, not only would the paper come, tv would. ;)

Hell, give me a date and I will come down, film it and put it up on both cbs and nbc VOD nationwide. (although no guarentee that it will actually 'air' nationwide, just accessible nationwide.)

In "MY" opinion, it seems kind of stupid to not do this, especially when it could generate positive feedback for both FOTR and CalRoc's.

Actually, our FOTR meeting is sunday, March 23rd, and that's not a bad plan for a handoff event with rigs, etc. I'll talk to Rich.

23rd makes good sense, but need to be sure press can be there - they always need Sunday filler!
