: Bent leaf springs

I took my Jeep out this weekend on it's first trip with the new lift and tires. I installed Rusty's 3.5" springs SOA. They seemed to ride great and flexed pretty good considering it was the first time. But after about 6hrs of wheelin I noticed the passenger side was sagging. When we got back to camp I got a good look and both passenger side springs had flattened out. Now the question, Who makes a good set of springs that will hold up to SOA? I need at least a 3.5" spring. How much lift would I get from HD7 leaf CJ springs? Thanks in advance.

The rears are sagging? You need to limit axle wrap. That'll kill springs quickly.

I may have just gotten a bad set of springs. I'm just looking for opinions on other ideas for better springs.

Aren't you from Nevada? :flipoff2:

What did Rusty say about the springs?
Good luck finding some good springs.

Rusty told me he would take care of the springs, I have to talk to him today to find out what exactly he's going to do.:flipoff2:

Talk to you later.

If the 7HD CJ springs are anything like the waggy ones, they are too stiff IMO. I think that you may need trim your fenders out...and put TJ flares on the back and flat-fender the front if you want to continue to run 38's:)

SUA springs aren't designed to go into negative flex (which is something they will do a lot of when used SOA). You should get springs designed for SOA application if you don't want them to eventually bend and/or flatten out. Maybe National could build you some custom ones with 3.5-inches of lift. Some real high-quality SUA springs that I've heard work well SOA are the RE Xtreme Duty leafs. Expensive, but not as bad as custom Nationals. the other bad thing about them (for your application anyway) is that they only come in 2.5 and 4.5-inch sizes...

You say that you don't have axel wrap? What did you 3 link cause this is the only way to truely eliminate it. Sounds like you just got a bad spring.
