now that i tore the outputshaft off the back along with part of the housing on my D20 . is there a way to brace up the spare i have in now so this doesn't happen again?

Damn I heard the output is the weak point of the dana 20's. That sucks.

scout dana 20's are a dime a dozen its the scout dana 300 thats rarer as it came only in the last year or two ...for yj owners you can pick up a rear dana 44 at the same time.

so does the scout output shaft just drop right in? Any mods needed? How about the Dana 21 output shafts?

If you're comparing fine spline to fine spline -jeep, ford and scout o/p shafts are ALL the same. If you have an older, coarse spline unit then any manufacturer's fine spline unit IS better. To just say "scouts o/p shafts are better" is incorrect. They are all 1.125" and 26 splines (if fine spline) which is the same as a dana 300 and dana 44 pinions. Just trying to shed some FACTS on the situation.:flipoff2:

Are you sure that the fine spline scout output shaft fits an EB. I have heard that the EB output is different than all the other dana 20 outputs. I tend to believe this because of the source and because the EB dana 20's are quite a bit different from the jeep/scout versions.

I won't guarantee one will just drop in, but they are the same daimeter and spline count. The tail housing that houses the o/p shaft IS different I believe. So essentially, I guess I'm not much help!

well i have one coming, the guy from the place i bought it frmo is 99% sure it should fit, so we will find out
