Hi guys. I am trying to work up the courage to sawzall the Zuk. The plan is to extend the rear, possibly to the length that would suit a front driveshaft and maybe a bit more. The idea is to take the tank out, cut the body off horizontally from the top of the wheelwells back and then cut the tub out.
So far all I have done is buy some Wrangler springs and work on my welding skills. Got all the tools, just rusty.
The next step would be to use TJ rear aluminum corners and flares to rebuild the countour of the rear end, and a diamond plate tailgate to close the gap. Ideally the corners will join up with the tail end of the Zuk quarter panels.
The point of this post is to see if anyone in this area would be interested in setting up a day to get together and hack up a perfectly good Samurai - sort of a mini fab-fest.
Oh, Yeah - I am in Manteca, CA. Let me know. Rudezuk, that's about 45 minutes away. Bring yours.
Brian:) :) :)
